As the itinerary visits many exciting destinations, we don't want you to miss anything from the included excursions.
We will start our bridge journey in Lyon at the Deluxe Hotel Boscolo Lyon Hotel and Spa for three nights of bridge lessons and games before we board the vessel on August 28, 2025. Once aboard we will have mostly daily events, either a lesson or a game. Of course, we will also facilitate bridge games for those interested in play at times other than official Play Bridge at Sea events.
Besides bridge, our journey also includes wine events. You will have the choice to join special tours that are designed to bring Europe’s rich wine heritage to life, and, what’s more, a dedicated wine expert will be on board to lead tastings and suggest pairings with our award-winning cuisine.

Our goal is to develop your bridge skills, therefore our focus is on education. Because bridge is a game to be played, we will always provide ACBL sanctioned games, but usually more lessons than games. Generally, we provide one bridge session--either a lesson or a game--on days in port, and two sessions on sea days. We also choose a few port days on selected cruises to offer two sessions. We provide our full schedule several weeks in advance of the cruise. Our teachers are ACBL certified.

GIORGIA BOTTA
Giorgia is an international bridge champion and world class teacher. Born and raised in Rome, Italy, where she learned to play bridge at the age of 12 from some of the greatest bridge players in the world, Giorgia now resides in New York City, where she has become one of the most respected and sought after teachers and professional players. She teaches and plays regularly at Honors Bridge Club, the largest bridge club in North America, as well as traveling internationally to teach and play bridge. Giorgia has a youthful exuberance and currency in the game that assures you excellent bridge instruction.
Chistopher Rivera
JOHN RAMOS
John is a professional bridge teacher and in the country's top echelon of tournament players. At the 2019 Fall Nationals, he placed third in the Kaplan Blue Ribbon Pairs, the oldest and most prestigious pairs event in the United States, besting a host of top experts from all over the world. In addition to his skill at competing, he is a passionate teacher and believes that anyone can improve with the help of an attentive and engaged instructor. Originally from New York City, where he was mentored by many of the country’s top players, he’s lived in Los Angeles for the past twelve years. He works with players of all levels privately, on cruises, and at his adopted home, the Beverly Hills Bridge Club, one of the biggest clubs in California, which he also manages.
Christopher is an ACBL Accredited Bridge Teacher and tournament rated director. Since co-founding Play Bridge at Sea with James Gundell and Ed Brill in 2017, he has taught bridge to students online and on cruise ships. Christopher serves as Bridge Director at Play Bridge At Sea.
He is delighted to have a profession which allows him to play bridge and travel, and he is enthusiastic about teaching more people to play this wonderful game.
